Rejuvenate old cells and stimulate new ones with your own blood platelets and growth factors

Learn About PRP &A2M Therapy

How PRP Works

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that utilizes a patient’s own blood to promote healing in injured tissues. The process begins with drawing a 30-60 ml of your own blood, which is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other components like red blood cells and white blood cells. This concentrated plasma, rich in growth factors and healing proteins, is then injected into the targeted area, such as tendons, ligaments, joints, hair follicles or skin. The growth factors in PRP stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and enhance healing by accelerating the body’s natural healing and recovery processes. PRP is often used for conditions like tendonitis, osteoarthritis, damaged skin and hair loss, offering a minimally invasive alternative to some surgical solutions.

The Double Spin Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) technique is an advanced method for preparing PRP to enhance healing and tissue regeneration. It involves two centrifugation steps: the first spin concentrates the platelets, while the second spin further refines and isolates the most concentrated platelet-rich plasma from the whole blood. This technique results in a much higher concentration of platelets, growth factors, and other regenerative components, which are critical for tissue repair. By increasing the effectiveness of the PRP, the Double Spin method is used in various medical and cosmetic applications, including orthopedics, dermatology, and aesthetics, to accelerate healing, improve skin rejuvenation, and promote hair growth.

Why Choose PRP Therapy?

  • Natural Healing: PRP uses your body's own platelets to stimulate healing, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or complications.
  • Non-Surgical: Avoid the need for invasive surgery with a simple, quick procedure and minimal recovery time.
  • Effective: Clinically proven to improve hair growth, skin quality, and joint function.
  • Safe: Performed by a board-certified doctor with years of expertise in administering PRP treatments.

What to Expect

During your consultation, we'll discuss your goals and medical history to determine if PRP is right for you. The PRP procedure itself is quick and minimally uncomfortable. After drawing 30-60 ml of blood, we use FDA Cleared Kits to concentrated platelets which contain variety of growth factors and healing agents and injected into the targeted areas. Most patients experience little to no downtime and can return to their regular activities within 24 hours.

About The Most Advanced Regenerative Medicine Therapies at SD PRP Clinic

SD PRP Clinic specializes exclusively in high-concentration, Double-Spin Platelet-Rich Plasma combined with Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (Double-Spin PRP + A2M) therapy and/or Protein-Rich Platelet-Rich Plasma (PR-PRP). This cutting-edge, dual-action therapy is precisely injected under ultrasound guidance directly into the damaged area which may significantly improve musculoskeletal pain, accelerate tissue healing, and actively halt joint degeneration.

Clarifying Your therapy: Standard PRP vs. Advanced Protocols

It is common to hear the term "PRP" used broadly, but there are critical differences in how blood is processed and what therapeutic components are delivered and by what type of separating method and PRP Kit. Here is how standard treatments compare to the advanced protocols offered at SD PRP Clinic:

1. Standard PRP (Single-Spin) — Not Used at SD PRP Clinic

Standard Platelet-Rich Plasma is typically processed using only 10–15 mL of blood in a basic, single-spin kit or test tube. While it concentrates platelets around 2 to 3 times above baseline levels, it often retains a high concentration of unwanted red blood cells and lacks a dense volume of specialized plasma proteins and growth factor. Single-spin PRP leaves behind a high volume of water and red blood cells and has fewer total proteins, and minimal growth factors. Because it lacks the cellular density required for repair of damaged areas, SD PRP Clinic does not use single-spin PRP.

2. Double-Spin PRP (High Concentration)

At SD PRP Clinic, our double-spin method creates an ultra-concentrated PRP. We draw 30–120 mL (normally 60 mL) of blood and utilize one of the premier, FDA-cleared processing systems available: EmCyte® Supraphysiologic kits. By spinning the blood twice, we strip away destructive red blood cells and concentrate platelets to an extraordinary 7 to 16 times baseline levels. This potent serum is packed with growth factors and essential healing elements that provide a powerful biological scaffold for tissue, tendon, and ligament remodeling.

3. Double-Spin PRP + A2M (The Complete Joint Protocol)

For advanced musculoskeletal conditions and osteoarthritis, SD PRP Clinic introduces Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M) into the healing matrix of double spin PRP.

  • The Analogy: While PRP is the "construction crew" that rebuilds tissue, A2M is the "security guard" that protects the joint.
  • The Science: In a damaged or arthritic joint, destructive enzymes (catabolic proteases) constantly chew away at cartilage. A2M is a massive, naturally occurring plasma protein captured during our specialized filtration processing. It acts as a molecular trap, capturing and neutralizing these destructive enzymes.
  • The Process: This protocol involves a similar but more sophisticated process than double-spin PRP. We utilize a specialized concentrator filter to eliminate excess water, unwanted low-molecular-weight proteins, and residual red blood cells, isolating a highly concentrated dose of pure A2M. By combining Double-Spin PRP with A2M, we jumpstart tissue repair while actively shutting down the chemical processes causing joint degeneration.

4. Protein-Rich Double-Spin PRP / PR-PRP (The Complete Tendon Protocol)

In peer-reviewed musculoskeletal medicine, Protein-Rich (or protein-dense) PRP refers to advanced processing protocols that go beyond standard platelet concentration. In addition to our double-spin method, we utilize specialized filtration to maximize the concentration of both signaling platelets and essential plasma proteins—such as fibrin, fibronectin, vitronectin, and anti-inflammatory cytokines—while meticulously removing cellular debris, water, and unwanted small proteins.

By utilizing this advanced methodology, SD PRP Clinic concentrates these vital healing proteins alongside the platelets. This creates a robust, highly bioactive matrix that when injected to damaged area under ultrasound guidance, it works synergistically with the body's natural chemistry to repair stubborn tendons, ligaments, and joints.

Key Benefits of Advanced Therapies at SD PRP Clinic

  • Halts Joint Degeneration: Concentrated A2M and Protein Rich PRPactively protects cartilage and tendons from ongoing enzymatic wear and tear, preserving long-term joint and tendon health.
  • Accelerated Tissue Repair: Supraphysiologic growth factors and dense plasma proteins supercharge the healing timeline for ligaments, tendons, muscles, and joints.
  • Significant Pain & Inflammation Reduction: By neutralizing inflammatory proteins, red cells, leukocytes and promoting rapid cellular healing, patients typically experience a profound decrease in chronic discomfort.
  • Autologous and Safe: Because both the Protein-Rich PRP and A2M are derived entirely from your own blood, there is virtually low isk of an allergic reaction, rejection, or cross-contamination.
